Job responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined, as is the scope of job authority. A key aspect of the job includes the ongoing identification of technical problems and the development of sound, carefully thought-out solutions. Solutions should minimize risk to the organization and utilize existing resources. Because of the expertise developed in this position, it is necessary to regularly initiate and communicate viewpoints on problems and opportunities in a factual, straightforward manner. This job allows for autonomy and independence, and is primarily self-reliant. Because of the fast-paced job environment, adaptability and organization is a must. Decisions must be made quickly and firmly, within the defined scope of job authority and based on job expertise. In general, this is a valued expert who is comfortable working with many different groups of people, managing multiple tasks at once, and troubleshooting various solutions in order to creatively solve problems. They should be able to deliver high quality, accurate results, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards.

Job duties:

  • Manage office and kitchen inventory
  • Purchasing
  • Calendar Management
  • Assist with conference room maintenance, including troubleshooting with technology
  • Outbound shipping and receiving, facilitate customs clearance (must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.)
  • Lab Notebook distribution and scanning
  • Answer phones and transfer to appropriate employees
  • Greet visitors and facilitate sign-in at front desk
  • Other administrative tasks and special projects, as needed
  • Booking travel
  • IT inventory management and ordering
  • Facilitate with our outsourced IT company to troubleshoot issues when needed
  • Be a member of the Safety Committee


  • A willingness to dive into projects with enthusiasm, even if they are not squarely within your job description.
  • No specific education level is required - but great communication and writing skills are necessary. Some office experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience
  • Volume of activity will vary. Very detail oriented. Tasks must be completed quickly and correctly. More of a service-oriented, people orientation rather than an analytical or technical orientation
  • Communication should be friendly, pleasant, and tactful.

We offer a total estimated compensation package of up to $48,000 - $60,000 (comprised of a base salary of $45,000-55,000 + up to 30% potential bonus based on meeting divisional and company KPIs which is paid out quarterly.) We offer health, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, 401k, and three weeks of paid time off plus one week for year-end vacation
