Position Overview:
This Lab Supervisor will be part of the Manufacturing Team at Nanoramic. The Lab Supervisor will be responsible for the execution of manufacturing and Research & Development projects specifically relating to the pilot line. Nanoramic is developing many state of the art technologies and the Lab Supervisor will oversee the manufacturing side of these projects to make sure that the builds are on schedule, resources are properly allocated, and inventory is controlled and planned. The projects will range from low-volume manufacturing to prototype builds. The Lab Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day to day activites in the laboratory. This includes uspervision of laboratory personnel, quality assurance, and overseeing the collection and analyzing of lab data.

The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized work is the major focus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, supervise and manage all Production/Laboratory Department activities, which will involve both Production and R+D activities
  • Plan resources across projects- Plan, prepare and supervise laboratory services relating to organization’s policies
  • Consult with laboratory personnel and troubleshoot operational difficulties in a timely manner
  • Establish, execute, review, and evaluate laboratory procedures and policies for operating functions of laboratory.
  • Perform analytic, pre-, and post-analytic functions to attain departmental goals and ensure stable conformance by laboratory staff
  • Lead team and motivate laboratory personnel to maintain inventory, storage, supplies for both production and R+D projects- Support Director with laboratory activities and operations
  • Analyze, select, and propose equipment for purchase- Monitor maintenance and service agreement for equipment and purchased
  • Manage and resolve administrative and technical problems
  • Provide occasional support to technicians- Support the safety committee in operating the facility safely and effectively

Job Requirements

  • Technical Education (Engineering degree or similar, vocational programs will be considered
  • Ability to spend majority of Business Hours (8am to 5pm) at the Boston Facility
  • Ability to spend approximately 50% of time standing in the laboratory and 50% of time at desk
  • Any experience with ERP/planning systems is a plus

We offer a total estimated compensation package beginning at $69,000 (comprised of a base salary of $69,000 + up to 30% potential bonus based on meeting divisional and company KPIs which is paid out quarterly). We offer health, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, 401k, and three weeks of paid time off plus one week for year-end vacation.
