We are currently seeking to hire an energetic, highly-motivated, self-starter to help develop and optimize electrolyte solutions for cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries and other energy storage devices. In this role, you will be responsible for leading an electrolyte team to develop specialized electrolyte solutions that are optimized for Nanoramic’s full battery solutions, utilizing Neocarbonix at the Core technology applied to cathodes and Si-dominant anodes. This will be a cross-functional role and you will work intimately with Nanoramic’s battery team and AI / Machine Learning team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute electrolyte design/formulation/evaluation to understand the best feasible electrolyte material candidates and provide technical comparisons and critical assessment of assigned cell chemistries
  • Work closely with AI and Machine-Learning team to continuously feed inputs and findings into Nanoramic’s data lake to improve the speed of development
  • Work with technical team to optimize electrolyte to meet target performance
  • Lead intellectual property and trade secret capture, as it relates to electrolyte, to protect the company’s technology developments and secure a competitive position
  • Manage relevant research and development programs to ensure deliveries on time and within budget
  • Analyze data and communicate results with cross-functional teams to generate solutions
  • Perform other functions as required to ensure the success of assigned projects and to support research and development operations
  • Perform scale-up activities to support the team for the commercialization of battery technology in Europe
  • Collaborate and communicate with strategic customers directly on cell development and optimization
  • Be aware of new market opportunities and emerging technologies in the energy storage industry
  • Assist with European grant funding initiatives, as it relates to electrolyte development and optimization

Key Requirments:

  • You have an MSc or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • You have demonstrated experience with deep and fundamental knowledge in lithium-ion battery technology
  • You have experience in a similar role and a strong track record of success in the development and optimization of lithium-ion electrolyte systems and are familiar with various electrolyte and additives technical performance analysis and evaluation
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally
  • You demonstrate the ability to communicate, present and credibly influence at all levels of the organization in an effective manner
  • You have a mindset to solve technical challenges with fundamental, feasible, and scalable approaches
  • You have a proven track record of success in bringing technical projects to fruition
  • You have the willingness to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment
